Tap “+” on the shelf and pick a file in Files. EPUB, FB2 and TXT are supported. It also works the other way round: open a book in another app and choose Share → ERReader.
Settings → Translation → Script. Latin spells them in letters you already know (krovat'), Both shows the two spellings together, and Cyrillic (кровать) is where you move once the alphabet sticks. You can switch without leaving the page: the “AA” button at the top of the reading screen opens the same settings.
Four reasons. Proper nouns are never touched. Homographs are skipped — “ring” is both a thing and an action, and without context the app would pick the wrong one. A word is skipped when its role in the sentence does not match the dictionary entry: “the dark room” is an adjective, while the dictionary knows тьма, a noun. And some words are simply not in the dictionary — it is large, not infinite. The caption under the ring shows the share you actually got.
Because the sentence around it is English, and there is nothing for the verb to agree with. Nouns come out right — the article and the word order do the work — but a verb enters in its dictionary form, and plurals of nouns follow the English word. This is a known limitation, not a broken install.
Tap the word and choose “Learned”. It stops being substituted, and the percentage it freed goes to the next word in line.
It removes the ten-pages-a-day limit. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription: pay once, works forever.
Settings → About → “Restore purchase”. The purchase is tied to your Apple ID.
Most likely a TXT file in an old encoding. Re-save it as UTF-8 — any text editor can do that. EPUB and FB2 do not have this problem.
Check that the share is not at zero: the ring button at the top right of the reading screen.
